Here's what an embedded Google Slides file looks like using the Item View with Universal Embedder:

## Installing the App 1. Go to the app marketplace and search for *Universal Embedder.* 2. Select the app, *Add* to account and *Install.* 3. Now you can add Universal Embedder to your items, boards, dashboards and workspace.

## **Embed your link into an Item** If you want to embed links into individual items and have them display that content, there's a couple of steps you need to take. ### Step 1 - Install Universal Embedder into your View 1\. Go to the the *Main Table* of the monday board you would like to add the app to. 2\. Click the *Start Conversation* button of any item in the *Main Table* view to open the item's Updates / Views Section 3\. Click the *Add View* (+) button to open the *Item Views Center*, enter *Universal Embedder* in the search box, and click the *Add to item* button.

### Step 2 - Add a Link Column to your board The app displays URLs from a board's [Link Columns](https://support.monday.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001139125-The-Link-Column). If your board doesn't yet have a Link Column, you need to add one to your board (feel free to skip if you've already done this): 1. Open the board's *Main Table* view. 2. Click the *Add Column* (+) button at the top right end of your board and select *More columns* from the menu to open the *Column Center.* 3. Enter *link* in the search box and click the *Add to board* button.

### Step 3 - Add a URL to a Board Link Column 1. **Click into the relevant Item's Link Column** - Universal Embedder will only work when a link is added to a Link Column, so make sure your column is the right type. 2. **Grab the URL you want to add** - first make sure the link is publicly available. 3. **Hover over your Item and click *****Open.*** 4. **Choose the Universal Embedder View** - within the Item Card you have different Views. If you are not already on the Universal Embedder View, click on the tab labelled *Universal Embedder.*

Open the board you want to add the link or file to. 2. Click the *+* sign to add a new View (it’s to the right of the *Main Table* view, below your board's title). 3. Click on the *Apps* option in the dropdown. 4. Type *Universal Embedder* into the search bar of the *Views Center.* 5. Click the *Get it now* button.

### Step 2 - Add your URL 1. **Grab the URL you want to add** - first make sure the link is publicly available. You can use Universal Embedder to embed a link or file like so: ### Step 1 - Add Universal Embedder as a widget 1. Find the dashboard you want to add your embedded file into. 2. Click on the *+ Add widget* button and select *Apps.* 3. In the *Widgets Center, t*ype *Universal Embedder* into the search bar and click on it. 4. Click on the *Install button.* Your Universal Embedder widget will be added to your dashboard.

### Step 2 - Add your URL 1. **Grab the URL you want to add** - first make sure the link is publicly available. ## Embed your link into your Workspace menu ### Step 1 - Add Universal Embedder into your Workspace menu To add a file or URL into your Workspace's sidebar menu (where all of your Workspace's boards and dashboards are located): 1. Click to the *+ Add* *icon* in the Workspace's sidebar menu. 2. Hover over *Apps* and select the *Universal Embedder Workspace Embed* option from the dropdown.

Now your file is easy accessible directly from your Workspace menu, alongside all of your boards and dashboards.
